Basic ICT literacy is an essential skill expected from anybody seeking employment in today’s digital marketplace. Not only for employment but to be a productive individual to the society, everybody must possess fair knowledge in ICT. At the same time, it is equally important to have some kind of evaluation on your ICT skills and certification for it. This program will test your skills and award you with a certificate. It is not required to follow a regular course.

Undergarduate students of the University of Peradeniya

1. An orientation program will be conducted at the IT Center, UoP after 30 students register, to explain how the program will be conducted.
2. IT Center Learning Management System (LMS) accounts will be issued to registered students.
3. The exam will test your skill in Computer Essentials, Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Presentations and Online Essentials.
4. All materials including the syllabus, reading materials, videos, sample papers, etc will be uploaded to LMS. You should practice them on your own.
5. The exam will be conducted at the IT Center within a short period of time after the registration. The exam will consist of 1.5 hour theory paper and 3 hour practical paper.
6. The payment for the complete program including the certificate will be Rs.1,000.00.
7. IT Center will issue a certificate for the successful students.
8. One student will be given 2 attempts on the exam per registration in case s/he is unsuccessful in their first attempt.
9. All the communication will be done using WhatsApp/email.

A registration fee of Rs. 1,000.00 will be charged from the registered students. This will include the cost of the ICT Handbook and the certification fee.

1. The candidates are expected to have prior knowledge on the above specified syllabus. However, the IT Center will help them brushup and improve the knowledge and skills through materials, workshops, sample papers in the online mode.
2. The ICT Handbook prepared by the Information Technology Center will be given to every student register in the course.

The evaluation will consist of 2 papers

1. Theory test : 1.5 hour written paper covering the theory aspects of the above syllabus. There will be both MCQ and essay type questions
2. Practical Paper : 3 hour practical covering the practical aspects of above syllabus.
